Executing launchers in XFE

In 32-Tahr, clicking on a .desktop file in Roxfiler or Thunar executes.

In XFE, double-click opens a launcher as a text file. For the association tool, is there a command equivalent to Roxfiler's?

Roxfiler launchers are greyed-out. The manager that needs help is XFE.

So what happens when you set the association in this xfe box (the one you attached an image of), nothing? Also, does this xfe manager need ROX to be installed to function properly. I've never used xfe but have used Thunar before which depended on ROX being installed. If you can switch back to ROX, set the associations there and see if it also works when using xfe.

Hi JASpup,

XFE does not know how to read .desktop files directly when clicked on. You can tell XFE to use Rox to run .desktop files. Please refer to the following

In some pups roxfiler or rox open the file manager. Here in Tahr it's just rox.

thunar installed also works.

Thanks cat.
