How is Bionicpup32 installed?
Frugal or Live install?
On what type drive is it installed?
How exactly did you do the install?
Use a specific installer program or dd command?
I used a usb stick using gparted, non UEFI /msdos, 1st partition 300MB fat 32, 2nd partition 15G, ext 4. Manually moved files to partition 2 (*.sfs, vml, etc) from the .iso. Then used grub4dos on partition 1. Once I booted from the usb, again I used similar manual method on the laptop PC, to make the laptop bootable. I believe this results in frugal install.
Initially PPM seems to work OK, but after reconfiguration borrowing some files from previous puppy (.xinit, jwmrc, etc...). Now I get the error message. Since I wrote this, I have gone ahead and reinstalled without "borrowing files" and it is working fine. I like to know what the problem might have been with the original install if possible.
That is basically a frugal install.
You trying to mix stuff from one Puppy version into another different Puppy version.
No two Puppy versions are exactly alike.
Core programs and components change with each version.
They may look the same, but the components can be of a different version and work completely differently.
Welcome to Linux software!
Really for 100% it will work in a specific Puppy version.
All software needs to be compiled for that specific Puppy version it is going to be used in.
