According to the Guardian, on December 8, 2021, the Federal Social Court in Germany confirmed that the employee received an industrial injury at home when he fell on the way from the bed to the computer, and ruled that the remote worker was entitled to compensation from the insurance company for this situation.

In 2018, a German employee, officially working remotely, went from the bedroom in the morning to his workplace in another room. On the way, he slipped on the stairs and fell, suffering a spinal injury.

Initially, the insurance company refused to pay compensation to the victim, since the accident did not occur during the trip to work. After that, the employee decided to file a lawsuit against the insurance company in court.

The court found out that the employee was heading from the bedroom to the workplace, and not to the kitchen for breakfast :) , which is analogous to a trip to work. During the investigation, it turned out that he does not have breakfast before work at all.

As a result, the court ordered the insurance company to pay compensation to an employee at a remote location for this incident with an industrial injury at work at home :thumbup2:

here in the uk we have an expression.."compo-face"..Certain people mooching around looking grieved waiting for something to claim about...

This will no doubt satisfy the compo faces as claims will escalate.
Inherited from somewhere this claim mentality.

Does no one have accidents anymore...?
fall in the street and it's a potential claim.
