Tried to uninstall icewm, bionicpup64 can't find it!

Post by Lassar »

Trying to update icewm on my bionicpup64.

Thought I would uninstall it, then update it.

It's nowhere to be found, even thro I am using it right now.

So, how do I uninstall it?

Yes I tried updating it first, and that did not take.

Even tried the terminal using pkg remove.

It just can't find it!

It is not listed in the Puppy Package Manager(PPM) uninstall?

How exactly did you originally install it?

The things you do not tell us, are usually the clue to fixing the problem.
When I was a kid, I wanted to be older.
This is not what I expected :o

Since bionicpup64 said it was not there, I ended up
using pkg to install it.

Then I used pkg to uninstall it.

What does a search in Pfind, for icewm, show?

I still need this answered.

I have made a .PET of IceWM-2.9.1 in case Lassar (or anyone else) wants to test it out.
Compiled from source code in Bionic64
No need to add other versions of libc6 (glibc) or anything else (as mentioned in the other thread)
Lassar, reading between the lines it sounds like you are installing debian sid .deb packages in Bionic64 which is not ideal and not necessary. If it is working for you that's fine, but here is an alternative idea (which theoretically should be better).
Regarding uninstallation of THIS package, if you click the .pet to install it, you will find it in the Puppy Package Manager if you later wish to remove it.
