private.sh search engine no longer working

I have been using a search engine called https://private.sh/ for some time, maybe a year. Suddenly it stopped working on all of my browsers and pups. Initially I thought the site was broken but now I am inclined to believe maybe it's a java issue. I tried using private.sh on a Windows machine and the site is apparently working fine.
Their description of how it works can be found here: https://private.sh/how-it-works.html
Oddly, the underlying engine known as https://gigablast.com/ still works as normal. I would simply use gigablast except that private.sh provides a much cleaner presentation of the search results.
Anyone have thoughts?
Thanks

EDIT: It just occured to me that I tried to install the private.sh addon to just one of my browsers (Tor) in just one of my pup installs, and it did not work properly, so I removed it. However, I didn't add the extension to any other browsers. The private.sh site gives me "An error has occurred, Please Try Again' message in the latest versions of Palemoon, Slimjet, SeaMonkey, Ungoogled Chromium, LibreWolf, Iron, Dissenter, Firefox and Tor. Which leads me to believe this is a system issue of some sort.
And yes, looking at that list it appears I may have a browser fetish.

Works fine for me; Bionicpup 64, Seamonkey 2.53.9.1 (latest) and no java installed in puppy.

Well, I don't know where to begin on that. I'm on Fossapup64. It's a very unusual error. It'd be nice if the site gave me some clue about what kind of error is occurring. Could it be something to do with my ISP, which is Comcast? The error occurs in Fossapup and also Jackalpup, a separate Fossapup remaster.

I'm no expert, but my first thought was maybe some sort of connection issue. Firewall maybe. But with two different distros complaining, could be internet related. I just got a new internet service myself and now I occasionally get errors on some websites that used to load without any problem.

Debugging tools in my ungoogled-chromium indicate a problem with CORS (cross-domain requests):
Perhaps installing the appropriate plug-in for the browser will help. Plugins are different for different browsers. Go to your browser plugins page and search for CORS.
One of the options for Firefox and Chrome.

I installed the Access-Control-allow-Origin---Unblock extension, which when used with private.sh returned a more specific error message this time that reads:
Connectivity error. Check your Connection.
But the search function on the site still doesn't work. I think it's is one step closer to an answer, but It's kind of interesting that this happened to all of my browsers, even the older ones like Dissenter. I would be inclined to say that the Firefox and Chromium base code was updated to block CORS (which I only have a fuzzy understanding of) but the fact that a couple older browsers suddenly ran into the same error makes me wonder if the private.sh site changed their code and broke the compatibility.
