Should this post be placed in the "How too" section in the "Tips & Tweaks" forum? I think it would fit in
there much better than the additional software/education forum.

The thread title is misleading because the article cited does not in fact discuss symbolic links at all. It explains the difference between relative and absolute PATHNAMES, but it says nothing about the difference between relative and absolute SYMBOLIC LINKS.
