Hi like in subject.
Can anyone answer me why on my Puppy bionic my burning process looks like this:

I add all content to BluRay disk enter label start burn and all is ok coz whole process end succesfull but before its done my pburn window looks like this on screen above.
Can anyone tell my why its not display any data in burning progres window and program window also...

What app on bionic You use for burn? My fav from windows is imgburn, any alternativ for puppy?

When after burn process i save log to file i see all in that. But not in pburn terminal coz all empty.

If you know better alternativ then Pburn becouse program somtime tell bad size file limit on BlueRay CD and 1 time i burn then error coz space on cd end only fiew Kb...

Look error code... 99,38% and error coz no space on CD when i build burn project all looks good no overburn and no oversized project.
Next i burn same way but i alweys left program 300-500 MB free and never error again. But still i wont use some other burn apps.

Have you done the update to Bionicpup64 8.0?
If no.
Use Quickpet program (icon on desktop for Quickpet)
Quickpet->Info->Bionicpup updates
Reboot and save so the new changes are now being used.

Now try Pburn.

Restart after update is important? I think only when you update kernel restart is needed, tell me if i mistake... Thanks

Todey i try again i think and i check after another updete that help or no... Meybe this is my GPU foult coz i use nvidia "RTX2060 Super". But OpenGL is no problem i think meybe Pburn need other library to display all properly, example Python or Java...

Hello @Zuzia Seems I remember reading somewhere on the forum that this is the "now-normal" status behavior when burning in Pburn. As you already report, the missing status is in the log.

Restart after update is important?

Yes you need to reboot and save after doing the update.
Some of these updates, affect stuff that is part of normal operation, that is loaded, during boot up.
May even be something, that fixes a bug, that happens during boot up.

I tried Pburn in my install of Bionicpup64 8.0
Dependency check shows all required present.

All the windows look normal and show information as it burns the disk.

Did you do anything just before you noticed this problem?
Installed something, changed settings, deleted something, etc.....?

Hi no i just try 1st time use that burn apps with my blueRay project and i end burning 2/3 cd without problem 3 die becouse file size fiew kb was to big
and program just bad calculate size and let me to burn this even if i check size before start, also i not use overburn mod, then this is wierd. Soon i check dependency and tell more.

I check version:

Its Wierd i not see it in ppm dependency list... any Pburn name... Why no one add search window here? but i look all list one by one and im blind or pburn not instaled in my puppy this is wierd coz its defoult app.

If you are trying to use Pburn by non GUI terminal commands.
I know nothing about doing that.
I use it by the normal Pburn GUI.

First, Pburn comes installed in Bionicpup64 8.0.

If you did any installs of Pburn, by using PPM.
Go into PPM->Uninstall
Any Pburn listed, uninstall it.
Do a reboot and make sure the save is updated, to show this.

Now in terminal:

See if it still shows:

root# pburn -v
Pburn 4.3.19
root#

If it shows a different version of Pburn.

Rerun Quickpet->Info->Bionicpup updates
Reboot and save, so changes are now being used.
That is suppose to install the newer version, so it is now Pburn v4.3.19

Now see if you see the info screens when you do a burn.

The Puppy repositories are not that well maintained.
PPM is limited by what it can find in them, when you do a search.

In PPM, the found pburn 4.3.16 is from the Puppy-noarch-official repository, which is always full of older versions.
PPM found no other Pburn, in the other repositories, because there is none, in them.
Quickpet->Info->Bionicpup updates
Gets all of it's stuff, from it's own repository, that will never be seen by PPM.

Again, I did a Burn using Pburn 4.3.19
All info windows showed information as the burn was done.

My version is ok but i check ppm and i dont have pburn on list to uninstall, same any dependents i cant look coz pburn not egsist on list... Problem is i never uninstall this apps before and also not install it is like this from start when i install puppy on my pc year ago or more.

If yes, no affect.

How is Bionicpup64 8.0 installed?
Frugal, full, live, etc....
On what storage drive?
Internal Hard drive, USB drive, CD/DVD?

Usually when you download a Puppy version ISO and install it.
Problems that others cannot reproduce, indicate the ISO download and install are bad.
Usually a fresh new download of the ISO, a clean new install, will fix it.

Hi i burn another cd and same problem.

My puppy bionic x64 is Frugal, installed on 250GB HDD in PC not external.
I think this can by problem with my GPU all drivers from Nvidia work normal but my GPU is RTX 2060 super meybe this is problem? Some windows from apps in not render properly and i see only black window in log sceen... But this is super wierd. Artefact only when i start burn but when i save log after burn i see all in that file I have no idea why pburn have that problem.

I burn whole blueRay disk and all without any error, but when burning proces not end i not see any progress or errors, warning if any... And this is so anoing.

Hi i do all steps and restart system my puppy is updated to newest version. Yes i run quickpet update before.
And yes all proces when i build cd compilation is ok i see all message windows display properly...
But when i end setup all i press start burn button and i have first post look then, i see next normal window when all burn process end...

From the very first time you installed Bionicpup64 8.0.
Did Pburn show info in progress windows?

Try running Pburn In a terminal/console.
Type pburn
Press enter key.

Does it show any errors in the terminal?

Are you using English as the language in Bionicpup64?

It seems from post 3 in this thread that your Puppy runs cdrkit instead of cdrtools as required for pBurn to work properly. The last line of the output shows 'genisofs' which is the executable in the cdrkit package.

The dependency check fails to determine this because Puppy includes a link from 'genisofs' to 'mkisofs' to make it work for apps that requires cdrtools. BUT, cdrkit is a much simpler burn engine, and will fail in many operations defined by pBurn. Please install the cdrtools-3 package.

Hi maybe but this is wierd i just download iso fom puppy official site and i not change or install anything becouse pburn id default application.

Step by step and some bug force me soon to change os to fossa but i rly dont wont i like bionic, in fossa defoult vim is 8.1 more plugins work, Zathura djvu files work without problems, and maybe pburn also, discord apps work only in chromium browser coz in apps no audio and voice device to choice... But i rly wont resolve all problems not change whole OS... Still i wont stey coz all this problems meybe i can repair some dey. I even send bug report to discord support, and i have hope all will be fixed soon. Bionic is rly perfect for me. But i dont wont any anoing bug. Only one what i wish is Polish languege for all OS, And nativ version Photoshop for linux, and meybe Acustica also... Then i can delete my whole windows and never use dual boot. Coz windows i only have for PS and games...

Sorry long time i not here coz work, but i check all i install cdrtools3 and is better coz i can move windows when burning no grafical glith and i see blinking green cursor in log windows but still is total empty. Looks like no -verbose option...

Better

+ not looking frezee when i press burn
+ i can normal click other window and move it in difrent position on screen
+ no grafic glitch on main window i see all info
+ i see green cursor in log window he blink and looks work normal but i check all options and i not find any to change "show log info when burn" or something like this...

bad
- still log is empty and i not see any info burn progress.

Its me again i burn next dvd and all same again burn normal ane work but same as on start i not see nothing again all work like before i start that subject

I think i have all ok but my RTX2060 super is problem on puppy bionic. All games work and all but only this program have problems i dont know why...

Then nothing help me best way is install pburn on my laptop but i cant delete all os now then check other config and look is same problem or not...

I also save log aft er last burn...
