Hello everyone. this is my first message on this forum!
I'm using windows 10 and I've tried to download puppy linux more than once but everytime I download it. I NEVER find the file .ISO .
Where is it? I've also downloaded it from this link but it's always the same. http://distro.ibiblio.org/puppylinux/puppy-fos

Hello,
I think you need to burn the downloaded .iso (without extracting) either to cd/dvd or to usb stick with an appropriate program.
After that it will become bootable and you can boot Puppy from it.

The file you're downloading IS the ISO. Do NOT double-click on it, or attempt to open it with whatever you're using to extract RAR files. The ISO is a disc image and is not archived - if you try to open it as an archive, you'll actually see the files on that disc image (none of which are ISO disc images).

I suspect you also have Windows' Explorer set to hide the file extensions of "known file types." That means Explorer is telling you the filename is "fossapup64-9.5" when it's actually "fossapup64-9.5.iso". Open whatever program you use to burn disc images, select the file (fossapup64-9.5.iso or fossapup64-9.5, whichever the program's file selector offers), and tell the program to create the disc from the image. (Do not burn the ISO file itself to a data disc.)

The ISO is The Fossapup64-9.5.iso file you are downloading.
It is an image of the complete Fossapup64 9.5 operating system(OS).
Inside the ISO is all the files of a Fossapup64 9.5 OS.
It is an image file of what would be on a CD/DVD, if you installed all the files in it, to a CD/DVD.
ISO files are designed to be used to make an install of an OS to a CD/DVD.
Use some program that will burn files to a CD/DVD.
Select the Fossapup64-9.5.iso you downloaded.
Select burn iso image.
The program will take all the stuff in the ISO and burn them to the CD/DVD.

You can also install to a USB flash drive by using a program designed for doing this.
One of these:
viewtopic.php?f=156&t=157
These programs install all the files in the ISO to a USB drive.
Turning it into what is called a live install to USB.
This USB drive, can be used to boot the computer, and run it, with the OS on the USB drive.

In windows 8 and 10 , (and maybe in windiws 11)
If u double click iso files
It mount it as a dvd rom drive and it shows the content inside the iso , its a feature of windows operating system .

Just right click it and select burn image or burn cd

I prefer rewritable dvd for this purpose because i test many linux distros and once i am done with the dvd i erase it so that i can write other iso in it .

Back in windows xp days windows wouldnt do that , so people made daemon tool which let us mount iso images .

It was used to play games which needed game cd in cd drive to play (to stop piracy )

But then this daemon tool came and piracy continue, it was then possible to play game without actual cd in cd rom but just the iso acting like a real cd , to fool the game thinking as if it was the real cd .
