SeaMonkey and ublock

I have Easy OS v2.6.2 on a USB drive. I use a portable version of Iron as my browser, however, the OS comes with SeaMonkey. I've never really got on with SeaMonkey but I thought it might be a good idea to set it up. This I have done. I normally use uBlock as an adblocker. I looked at the version here sourceforge.net/projects/seamonkeyaddons/files/uBlock/ but thought it too old. I decided to install the version for Firefox. This is v1.37.2 which I think is the most up to date version. This seemed to install and appears in Add-ons Manager but the small uBlock icon that appears in the top right hand side of other browser does not appear in SeaMonkey nor can I find a way to get it to appear. Can anybody explain to me how to get the icon to appear. There is also the possibility that the Firefox version does not work with SeaMonkey. If this is the case can somebody please point me at a version that does.

Regards,

Ken.

Edit: I meant to say that in Iron in order to get the uBlock icon to appear I had to click on an icon that looks like a jigsaw piece then pin the uBlock icon. Don't know if that has any relevance to the above problem but I thought it worth a mention.

hello keniv.
Only the legacy version of ublock origin will work in seamonkey.

https://github.com/gorhill/uBlock/blob/ ... fox-legacy

Available at the provided link.

firefox uses webextension API now and thus the latest firefox version will not work in the xul extension format that seamonkey uses.

Hope this helps you keniv. :thumbup2:

Hi xenial,
Thanks for the information and the link. I un-installed the version I had and installed the version to which you linked. uBlock seems to be working with icon in top right hand corner. Will test it properly when I go on a site where it blocks a lot. Thanks again for your help with this.

Regards,

Ken.
