Retirement of "Nimbus Weather"...

Morning, all.

Since it's been decided to do away with the "Announcements" sub-forum - in the interests of allocationg maximum space to various Puppy developers, I have to assume - I'll just post this here.

Some of you may remember the Electron-based 'Nimbus Weather' AppImage I posted about on the old Forum's "Using AppImages in Puppy Linux" thread. Just to let y'all know, this is now non-functional. Nimbus Weather is built around the DarkSky weather API, and with Apple's purchase of DarkSky back in February:-

.....access to these APIs is being steadily cut off by Cupertino, who obviously want to make access to DarkSky stuff an exclusive part of the Apple "walled garden" approach. You won't catch me dashing out to buy Apple hardware to regain access; I'll just switch back to the Yahoo or Meteo APIs that have served me very well for years.

I've removed it from my Google Drive, and also from my own system. It's now an "ex-item"..!

Mike. ;)
