ROX windows stuck while using Fluxbox

Post by rek769 »

I posted about this quite a while back. See here: viewtopic.php?p=5215#p5215

What I have discovered is that disabling the default Pinboard causes this problem to resolve. Does anyone know how to permanently disable PuppyPin or at least to disable it at each boot?

In a text terminal (console) type rox -p=

The pinboard is initialized in the file /root/.xinitrc

You could change it (near the bottom of the file) to this:

rox -p=
which $CURRENTWM && exec $CURRENTWM

Thanks willams2.

Sadly, it seems that a pinboard disable does not solve the problem. I was successful once with that tact but subsequent tries result in the same issue of a stuck ROX window. Curiously, this only happens with Fluxbox. I decided to revisit Pekwm and all is well with ROX while running it. Pekwm has made some improvements as of late that put it on par with Fluxbox (at least for my use case) so I am going to transition away from Fluxbox while using Fossa. If anyone wants to load up Fluxbox and take a look at this weirdness I am happy to help troubleshoot if possible.
