Hello,
I don´t use Slacko 7.0 but whatever Puppy it is I suggest let the built-in packages where they are. Perhaps you may need these apps sometimes.

You can install your favourite apps and set them as default (instead of the built-in ones).

Yes, this is in most Puppies included.

But the whole truth is that this tool will only "white list" the unwanted apps, so they will not be active and visible. They will not be really uninstalled, because they are in a compressed .sfs file.

As I understand it, by deactivating of some app this way may stop working something else which was dependent on it.
Before experimenting with this I would do a good backup ;) .

Yes. Remove built-ins is step 1 of a two step process; the second being Remaster. The 'removed' applications won't be included in the remaster.
Ditto what Trapster wrote advising against removing anything. See my post here for a more sensible alternative. viewtopic.php?p=33200#p33200

'to easily turn off their appearance'

mikeslr, it's not about the appearance, I had open abiword, and it's taking almost 500 mb of ram, even w/o much written on it!! So Slacko 7.0 stuck again.
U had wisely removed it from your version, so it's running smoothly. :thumbup2:
