Sublime Text 4 - popular Python-based text editor...
Evening, all.
Sublime Text
Came across this on MakeUseOf.com earlier on yesterday, and thought some of you guys'n'gals might be interested in it:-

It needs Python 3 to run. This is almost always available through the PPM/Synaptic/whatever, depending on what you're running. The URL where you can obtain the download - it comes as a .deb package - is here:-

The big blue Download button is up near the top of the page, and again right down at the bottom, below the extensive changelog. Although what you're downloading is basically a 'trial' version, free for the purposes of 'evaluating' (you're expected to eventually purchase a licence at some point), there is, at present, no fixed time placed on the evaluation period. To quote from the downloads page:-
"Sublime Text may be downloaded and evaluated for free, however a license must be purchased for continued use. There is currently no enforced time limit for the evaluation."
Wouldn't like to speculate as to how long this state of affairs will continue, but it's an interesting alternative to Geany/Nano/Vim/Leafpad, etc.
Mike.
