Can a pupsave be safely shrunk?

Post by JASpup »

I would copy out the files adding a newly created 'dummy' file consisting of the amount of freespace I wanted in the new pupsave, then use mke2fs in PackIt for a new, smaller pupsave. Delete the dummy file and all is set.

Anyone else do this?

I've created the new pupsave and it boots, but after deleting the dummy file I don't get the room back. I deleted a 32MB file and save2flash doesn't care.

Next I'm just going to create a new pupsave the size of the use and increase it in Puppy.
