puppy linux 8.0 32 bits external vga monitor disconnects after a while
I own a netbook Acer Aspire One D150, 2GB RAM, 160GB HDD (only for data), with Puppy Linux 8.0 32 bits installed in a 16GB micro SD card into the built-in SD card reader. The netbook screen resolution is 1024x600. It has a VGA port to connect to an external monitor.
I connected a LG E1951 monitor (1366x768, a "standard" PC monitor) in the VGA port. No response. The monitor showed "Verificar cable de seƱal", that is, "Verify signal cable".
Went to Applications->System->Display settings and the to the "Advanced" tab, on the "External VGA Monitor" settings clicked on the "Turn On" check box, then changed the resolution to "1366x768", and then clicked on "Apply".
It worked!! the desktop showed both in the netbook screen and in the external monitor (whole in the monitor, trimmed in the laptop screen) ... but only for a few seconds, after that the monitor showed again "Verify signal cable" and the desktop showed only in the netbook screen. I need help to properly change the settings. I attached photos.
NOTE: This issue does not happen if I boot the netbook with the external monitor powered on and plugged to the netbook, but it would be interesting to know why it happens when the monitor is connected after the netbook boots.
