@Logan57 - we found the usb driver you needed in an earlier post.
It is possible that there is a conflict with onboard wireless.
Would you please run in a terminal: lspci -nn | grep etwork
& post results here. (that's lower case L and pipe symbol in middle).

I use realtec 802.11n usb wifif adaptor."00:19.0 Ethernet controller [0200]: Intel Corporation 82579V Gigabit Network Connection [8086:1503] (rev 05)
".
@Logan57 - I have found occasional instances where simple network setup (sns) doesn't always hold settings. I choose frisbee to connect. Is worth you trying that when offered choice of connection programs. If you have a save file with sns included, need to right-click on taskbar network icon, then click disconnect, then click taskbar icon again & do setup again, but delete sns setting & choose frisbee.
Is this on a laptop with internal WIFI?
If yes.
Do you have the internal WIFI disabled or turned off?
You need to.
But I am guessing at what you have, because you give us no info about the computer, how Puppy is installed, what connection Wizard you are using, and what it shows for Wlan0 devices.
My spy satellite is not getting a clear picture of your computer setup or monitor screen
Also Bionicpup64 8.0 has an update feature.
Quickpet icon on desktop.
Quickpet->Info->Bionicpup updates
Run this so some bug fixes and missing software is install.
Reboot and save, so the changes are now being used.
This may or may not help your problem, but it is needed fixes for other things.
My hardisk failes so im live booting from usb.
If you are booting from a USB live install and using a usb wifi adapter.
Have no idea what you have for USB connectors.
But could be an issue with what is controlling what USB connector.
ideally have Bionicpup booting from a USB 3 connection.
If you have USB 2 and USB 3 connectors.
Try having Bionicpup USB plugged into USB 3.
The WIFI adapter plugged into USB 2.
If the computer has an internal WIFI device. Have it disabled or turned off.
So the only active WIFI device is the USB WIFI adapter.
