If you are using an older Pup and still have crashing issues when say trying to download something and you have installed the glib-schemas .pet and you have gtk-3 installed also check you have libglib2.0-data installed as well as libglib2.0. The error message I was getting was a glib-gio message in terminal installing libglib2.0-data stabilized the newer seamonkey and stopped in crashing when trying to download a file - a problem with some older Pups - this problem was highlighted in the old forum in the Firefox Quantum thread.
In this case the Puppy I was using was Emcee's Saucy Pup.
