Hello every body and happy new year:

This question is about the notification area in the upper right side of the screen (xfce) where appears the programs I'm running in this moment.

How can I include more icons, so all the programs that I'm running appears in this notification area?

(For instance, when running FIREFOX the icon doesn't appear because the program is not registered. How can I include the programms that don't appear there)

THANKS A LOT.

It reads like you can use some terminology adjustment.

The NA is for system applications, like sound adjustment and firewall.

Icons that run from the panel (tray in JWM), are launchers (same as JWM). I've added launchers to the right of the NA. They're easy to move.

You add them in XFCE by right-clicking on the panel and selecting + Add New Items.

This is one feature of XFCE superior to JWM. LXDE is similar yet not quite as good.

System apps are controlled in the startup manager and appear in a system folder, if that's what you intend.

Firefox would never appear in the NA. You can add it as a panel launcher, or it would be a tab in your panel if it were running.
