Skype will become disfunctional on May 5, 2025. You may want to consider viber as a replacement. The Slant community has this to say about it, https://www.slant.co/options/1984/~viber-review. And it has wiak's 'Stamp of Approval', viewtopic.php?p=145624#p145624
You can obtain the deb for Ubuntu here, https://www.viber.com/en/download/. As of this writing the AppImage isn't functional under Puppys, as noted in the following link.
To install, see the following instructions: viewtopic.php?p=145659#p145659
Note: "Activation" may require the use of an App under android. "Viber for Desktop is synced to your mobile account. To activate Viber for Desktop, you will need an active Viber account on your mobile phone." There is a work-around. See this post for newer information. viewtopic.php?p=146434#p146434
As yet, I haven't tried. As indicated in the post linked above, I have it working under Bookworm64.
I think under NoblePup64 you'll also have to install the libgstreamer-plugins-base (via Synaptic or Apt) before you can install the Viber deb.
