"upgrading" from FossaPup-64 to Community Edition

So, I've been loathe to switch from FossaPup-64 to the CE because I've made SO many tweaks. If I install the CE alongside my FP-64, will it, can it use my existing .config file and installed software? Will it tear my .config file to shreds? (I have backups of everything.)
Thanks!

Only way to know is try it.
If you have frugal installs of each one as separate folders.
You could try using the save from Fossapup64 9.5 as the save for F96-CE_4.
See if it has any issues.
Just make a copy of the Fossapup64 save and place it in the frugal install of F96-CE.
Boot using the save.
To make sure F96-CE is setup to boot using a save.
Boot it fresh for the first time.
Do nothing but shutdown making a save.
Make sure to make same kind of save as Fossapup64 is using (save file or folder).
Boot Fossapup64 so it is running the computer.
Delete the save in the F96-CE frugal install folder.
Replace it with the Fossapup64 save copy.
Then boot F96-CE and it should now use the new save.
Seems to be using the same name for the save in each version.
So no name change is needed for the copied save to work.
Note:
Usually you can not use a save from one named Puppy in another named Puppy.
But F96-CE is an updated version of Fossapup64, so good chance they are compatible enough.

Remember that 'PulseAudio' is used for CE.
ALSA handles the audio for FP95.

THAT is prety much what i was wondering.

That is one of the features which draws me to the CE. Another is out-of-the-box Bluetooth, but i managed to configure that in FP64-9.5.
It's been a long day setting up a new HD in a new (to me) desktop for work. (It's a MONSTROUS HP Envy 23
- - for a fellow who prefers 11.6" notebooks....sigh... Long story but suffice to say I now require a second pair of glasses for piano playing and computer work; the bifocals just aren't cutting it anymore.)
I'll post back when i test, though it may be a bit....
Thanks!

Could be an issue that may require deleting sound settings from the copied save.
But I think it would not use them and you would need to setup sound settings again.
The settings in the copied save will be for the computer it was made on.
So using it on a different computer usually does require going over all the config setups and making settings for this computer.

If you would like use the 'touch screen' capabilities of your monitor, you could try QuickPup64 or FatDog64.

I've not yet experimented with the CE, but with FP64, touch screen works OOTB. More later.
Interesting that I've several times used my .config file from one laptop to another, issues are minor. Another great thing about Linux.
