I am wondering if it's time for an update with easypup since the last 2.5.1 was buster and 2021 as far as I can find. Maybe with Deuvian base that you built this time.
Sorry couldn't find apers to do it myself as /quirky no longer has the relevant easyos directories.

Re: Maybe a Easypup Updated and rebased
Hi scsijon. Haha, I have a feeling that BarryK may utter some harsh remarks when he read this thread! You won't even find a link to download an EasyPup anymore!
I have EasyPup 2.5.1 installed next to my EasyOS Daedalus in my old Dell laptop that I use now, but until my over 20 year old HDD gave up in my main Linuxbox, the Easypup 2.4.9 was my main distro, and a Tahr64-6.0.6 covered some extras when needed. I once told BarryK that I felt that the EasyPup had the potential to be the best Puppy ever.
I know that someone probably will be insulted by these next words, but I downloaded and tested the latest BookwormPup, and apart from lacking programs and being a little unfamiliar in design, I found it extremely boooring! The only thing that impressed me was the content of /etc/hosts!
I have personally no use for containers and flatpaks and appimages - especially as the selection is very limited so far, so I build and handle my Daedalus EasyOS more or less as an old Puppy. Most of the programs I use, are available in the Devuan repo.
I think that an updated non-woof-CE EasyPup is a very good idea!
BTW, have you checked https://distro.ibiblio.org/easyos ?

Re: Maybe a Easypup Updated and rebased
Um, actually what I was lookig for was to upgrade it, before starting to build a base for a Asus ProArt PZ13 which is Snapdragon based, and a dual 4K screen lenovo graphics tablet I ended up with (ordered the wrong model, but like it enough I want to use it with a version of Easy).
I like the containers, but less the flatpacks/snak/etc. Mainly for the information they want and collect and sell elsewhere into the market. That I consider an invasion of privacy, which is why I prefer to build my own version of a lot of application packages and make them run totally off-line and not require to 'automatically check for updates' and such at startup.
I wonder how many people have noticed that quite a few Hardware devices such as laptops, '2 in 1', and tablets now have alternatives to the Intel Processor hardware builds available, sometimes only in other countries. These can be obtained from most manufacturers if you can justify it being imported. Even as a one off or for sugesting you'd be interested in market testing it for them.
Re: Maybe a Easypup Updated and rebased
I do not have the patience, and I also feel that I lack some skills, so I do not usually build my own versions of programs. Only the occational tiny one. But, I have never let any program be automatically updated, I have never understood why people would allow that.
BTW, re. security; the latest Vivaldi now includes a builtin free Proton VPN.
