I have the three files that I used before to install MFC-7440N but do not recall even where I got the instructions. Please find and post the instructions here. Or tell me here where you have found them. I will then use either of them to install the driver.

If what you have are also .deb files, I think you can double click or right click to install. I'd recommend getting the latest driver though
If it also has a scanner, you can try this command. Just change the name and model:

brsaneconfig4 -a name=name.your.device model=model.name ip=xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx My HP/Compaq 2005 32-bit nc8230 laptop refused to download the Brother printer driver for lpr, and instead downloaded the cups printer driver, which it had already downloaded. This driver refused to install. That is why I asked for help installing the three files I already had.
My Toshiba 2009 32-bit laptop downloaded both files and installed them and they print.
My ASUS 2010 64-bit laptop did the same.
All were using NoblePup32.
