Firefox 128.7esr

Post by N97 »

Located at archive.org. ROOT install version, with configuration b/4 use explained. As is written, NOT for social media use. Google has been tossed. Therefore, not for everyone...
But otherwise, no breakage. The UPDATE to FF128.8esr DOES break/not allow things, so a bug report filed. CAVEAT EMPTOR applies here, and initial setup is a bit tedious.

Firefox 128.7.0esr configured Good luck, and happy internet.

I just updated before I saw this.
What kind of problems might I see? I hadn't noticed any yet.

Thanks

Some people will not see anything wrong, but if you have altered about:config towards security & privacy, you might...
Problems with TLS security "no overlap"warning, this may be related to upgrading a http website to https.
Also I noticed that the human verify test located at https://random.org failed... the spinner did not clear.
I submitted a bugzilla report.

The bug has been fixed as of 21 mar 2025... in about:config use search term alpn
Make sure its TRUE. Upgrade to 128.8 esr will not break.

No, but I responded to your other request here, viewtopic.php?p=145694#p145694.
If you really need an SFS version post again. I'll provide a recipe for 'converting' a portable into an SFS. However, FYI update of SFSes either take up space in your SaveFile/Folder or have to be rebuilt; and web-cache and profiles use RAM. Portables firefoxes are easily updated and store web-cache and profiles on /mnt/home if that's where you locate the portable. Web-cache can quickly built up to hundreds of Mbs.
