Here's how I did it awhile back, on Kirkstone. It runs flawlessly and I love it!

Not sure if it'll work the same on 6.6.2, but you can try it! Hope this helps!

Awesome, glad to hear it worked! Enjoy!
I got xfe working on Kirkstone awhile back the same way I got Veracrypt working (manual trial-and-error experimentation, guided by error message texts, with a lot of Googling for solutions). Thanks for the offer though! That .pet file may be useful to others here!
This whole difficulty around installing software really needs to go away permanently. Mainstream users are never going to be capable of, let alone want to go through, difficult guessing game experimentation like this just to install software. It has to be simplified and streamlined or mass acceptance by non-technical people will never happen.
Since there is no check on space when installing on EasyOs, it is possible for a package and its dependencies to be installed in RAM, but to subsequently fail when trying to copy to the img on powering down or rebooting. The problem is that the system thinks the install succeeded and even when the space is increased, the system continues to give false alerts and the package continues to fail to install while the install software claims the installation has succeeded.
