@ally updating withdrawn kernels?

Post by Jasper »

@ally

I understand you archive content contained within the forums.

Are you removing the 'withdrawn' kernels or adding supplementary information provided by ozsouth's updates?

If something is 'broken' why keep it?

If it serves no purposes....unless you can break it down into parts/spares for future use.

Say Jasper, follow your own advice and FIX YOUR IMAGE LINKS IN YOUR POSTS! You've been made aware of the issues, so fix them.

@Jasper / @fredx181 :-

I think I see what's going on here. And it's nothing to do with ad-blockers, or 'looping'.

I'm getting an image if I click on the PostImages link (I've had an a/c with 'em for years anyway; it's where all my images come from) so that may be why.

However; I notice Jasper does NOT wrap the link with the 'img' tags. If you do, Jasper, it SHOULD show up.....but you're using the wrong link for that to work. You're using the very first one in the list, which ONLY takes you direct to the site. You need to use the second one, 'Direct Link', and then wrap it with the 'img' tags. If you do that, then it SHOULD display in your post (if you want it to, that is). OK?

Even if you only provide the link, so folks have to click on it, it STILL needs to be the 'Direct Link'. The first one will never do what you want, it ONLY works for PostImage a/c holders.

Years of experience with the site, mate! All these image-hosting sites have their quirks; you just need to experiment a bit to see which links work best for your use-case. :)

Mike. ;)

Really, @Jasper. Is that the best you can come up with....repeating my own posts back at me? Pathetic. Like a little kid who can't get his own way. So sad...moronic, even. If you EVER had any respect in this community, you've thrown it out the window through your own actions.

I was about to explain just what ally's role is in our community....but I doubt you give a sh*t anyway. You're just making random posts for the sake of annoying everybody. Don't think we can't see through you. You're transparent, my friend. You ain't fooling anyone.

Don't be surprised if you can no longer log-in one of these days. You'll only have yourself to blame. There ARE limits to the crap we'll put up with.

I'm outta here. You disgust me. You make me wanna puke.... Image

Mike. :roll: :shock:

@Jasper I've reached my limit. Keep that in mind.....the very next post you make could be the last one you ever make here again.

Come on guys. Certainly there have been many annoyances, and circumstance and mood dependencies, there will always be some.

But this forum has been reorganized, and improved greatly in facility as a result of that I feel. It is a good time to put many past fights behind us and make this an even better place.

Also, I second Jasper's view that it is thus also a good time to tidy up old links and resources. His OP thread was about forum archived resources on internet archive, but an overall cleanup and fixing of dead links and even removal of posts or threads that are clearly now irrelevant would be a good thing.

Everyone, every forum distro, now has its equal opportunities, space, resources, and defined areas on this forum, so good to appreciate the results and work positively together, Jasper and everyone here included. Up to ally what he decides is best on internet archive of course, but I'm sure he considers all suggestions from all forum participants.

By the way, in that spirit, even I am considering doing some work on Puppy Linux itself one day I have some time again in the future.
