i want my default to be 150% on all apps and desktop. i;m tired of constantly HAVING to reset it with each boot or app startup.
iff i knew the correct ASCHII codes i could use a script to add [CTRL + +} 4-5 times, unless there's a better way? thx.

Do you want all text graphics to be larger?
You could try to edit .Xresources file. geany /root/.Xresources and
add to the end of the file or replace the number to : Xft.dpi:144 save and close, then run xrdb -merge .Xresources and reboot. Is this what u r looking for?

Just a suggestion:
Did you consider using a lower screen resolution while keeping the size of your work area.

This is how I configure my display so that I can actually make out what's happening:
Open Menu>Setup>QuickSetup.
- Change Default Display.png (252.19 KiB) Viewed 194 times
Near the Bottom-Right of the GUI put a 'check-mark' in the Run Video Wizard box. [Graphic Top-Left].Then Click OK.
Xorg Video Wizard will open. [Graphic Top-Right].
I select 'Screen resolution /Color depth (xorg.config)'.
The Set screen resolution GUI opens. [Graphic Bottom]. There's a Scroll-bar which displays various choices. The default display for my system is 1900 x something. I change that to 1680 x 1050. The smaller the numbers the larger elements of the display will appear.
At the bottom of the same GUI is a scroll bar for selecting the default Font DPI. This works as you would expect: the larger the number the larger the font displayed.
You may have to experiment with both settings. IIRC, I had to click OK at the bottom of the GUI for the Screen Resolution, than re-open Xorg Wizard before configuring the font size.
Screen Resolution (xrandr) can be used instead of xorg.config. But its GUI doesn't include anything to change the font size.
Don't forget to Save your Changes.
