Found that KLV-Airedale-sr15 runs well on an ancient Gateway

On an old 2005 tower computer, a Gateway (model GT5012) - 820 Media Center Desktop that has an internal HDD that is the boot device but seems to have failed. I think there are some files and directories from the original work done on the murga-linux forum that I would like to review but I can't boot. Machine worked 2 weeks ago.

So I just grabbed a USB stick with a KLV-Airedale-sr15 installed on it and couldn't believe how fast it booted and how well it runs on this almost 20 year old Gateway computer.

Still couldn't access the primary HDD but could mount the secondary HDD. To bad it didn't have the files I wanted to look at.

With an Intel® Pentium® D processor it turns out that the machine is totally usable with this KLV. I didn't expect it to run at all when I inserted the USB flash drive and turned on the computer.

Hello @rockedge:

Interesting post. I have a number of laptops from 2005 .. 2007.
At the moment I run uPupBB on these (or The Friendly Pup).
Can still access the YouTube/internet.
Mostly I watch podcasts about history.

Does KLV-Airedale include a working browser? <-- question

Does KLV-Airedale include a working browser?

Firefox is installed and updates with the XBPS package manager!
