in CUPS i get this line:
usb:-pcie5/Brother/HL-1110%20series?serial=E5N648572
it's an OLD mono laser printer, i've downloaded hpjis and hplip, there are several recommended drivers but they don't print at all on test/sef test. it was working until last install, it has toner. it feeds paper. no fault lights, no bad noises. i'm tired and can't keep up the fight. i do not want a new printer. the preferred drivers are foomatic, all help gratefully received.
brother HL10-h/foomatic/hpijs-pci5e [recommended] etc. i can't locate a ppd file list and i'm just too
tired to go on...thx.

@boof - most Brother laser printers are compatible with the HP Laserjet 4 driver in cups. I always use it. On most puppies, means no printer drivers need be installed. Try that.

@boof - My suggestion was HP Laserjet 4 Driver. You don't need any deb or run or pet for it.
With printer plugged into usb & turned on, run (at own risk) as per pdf below:

PPM installed brlaser v6, work fine, 600dpi. it's a raster converter for certain bro printers, apparently.
