------ PCB will backup a Puppy Frugal systen, "saveDIRECTORY", or "saveFile.4fs"
------ as a file.gz into the home subdir where the saveDATA is located, .
method:
------ minimalist BASH program,
------ no user entry required,
------ minimal GUI,
------ Capture / Compression is based on Unix/Linux "Tar.Gz." .
------ All Operating Parameters gathered from PUPSTATE.
tested:
...... on 22 installed/running Puppy Linux Distros,
......___ /saveDATA/subdir and /saveDATA.4fs,
......___ 32 bit and 64 bit.
......This replaces the "Pup Save Backup" [ Hot Backup ] provided by the Puppy Distros for the last ten years. .
...... Drop the BASH script into /root/my-applications ( All Puppy Distro provide this user subdir for projects_
..... ... then run from anywhere. Pet Not Required.
