Hi All!

I have tested the SSE2 versions using Kirkstone 5.8.4 as well as Scrathgap 6.3 .

Steven Pusser's latest version of palemoon for SSE2 CPUs (32-/64-bit). Palemoon - 33.3.1-1mx21

Code: Select all

Description:
Pale Moon offers you a browsing experience in a browser completely built from
its own, independently developed source that has been forked off from
Firefox/Mozilla code a number of years ago, with carefully selected features
and optimizations to improve the browser's stability and user experience,
while offering full customization and a growing collection of extensions and
themes to make the browser truly your own.
Pale Moon requires a processor that supports the SSE2 instruction set.
Run "/proc/cpuinfo" in a terminal, and look for sse2 in the flags to ensure
that your processor supports it.
Though Palemoon has removed support for older non-AVX processors on their
official builds as of 33.3.0, this MX version still supports SSE2 for x86.

Cool. Thank you very much.

I know Pale Moon. I used it for a while in the recent past. It is good generally speaking, but unfortunately it slowly got worse and worse regarding website compatibility, till it reached the point when I was forced to stop using it. I don't know if it has been recently improved or if it has continued on its falling parabola.

Anyway, it still resolves some problems like no other browser can. For example it's still compatible with the TLS protocol v 1.1 (Transport Layer Security). There are still hardware devices around only able to provide web interfaces protected through TLS 1.1 and as far as I know, there are only 3 ways to keep using them:

- Use Internet Explorer 11 --> My goodness! And it's also been removed on Windows 11
- Use Firefox and activate the flag security.tls.enable-deprecated
- Use Pale Moon

To use Pale Moon looks to be the best alternative.

Hi @Federico

Pale Moon and DuckDuckGo is a cool combo to watch YTube videos. As soon as you click on video search in DuckDuckGo and afterwards clicking on 'Watch Here' you are good to go.
