How to install Brave browser in EasyOS?

Hello, good afternoon, first of all, I apologize for my bad English; I'm new to this, but not quite in the world of Puppy and I would like to know how to install a .SFS package, specifically the Brave browser package. I downloaded it and installed it without any problem in BookWormPup64, but I can't do it in EASYOS [I'm using version 6.0.4].

Thanks in advance.

Yuki.

.sfs from other puppies probably won't work in EasyOS.

You could try a flatpak. Click on "pkg" desktop icon, choose "flapi" and add a custom entry for Brave, based on information here:

https://flathub.org/apps/com.brave.Browser

EDIT:
I just remembered, FeodorF has already done that, see here:

Brave Browser has been added to Flapi. It will be in the next release of EasyOS. Blog post:

Hi Barry, good afternoon, thank you very much for your kind reply and sorry it took me so long to get back to you, but, due to work issues, I had to go out of town.

I will check the post you indicate and especially learn a little more of its operation that I see is quite different from a traditional Puppy [in which I have experience].

Greetings from Oaxaca City, Mexico.

Yuki.

EasyOS 6.3 has Brave Browser available in Flapi, the flatpak installer.

See 6.3 announcement:

Installed and testing.

I think it could be my prefered browser.

It looks nice, so..... LET'S TEST.

Thanks for your suggestion.

Have a nice day u all, CHEERS.

I uninstalled BraveBrowser. For my pc configuration or characteristics it started slowly, sometimes it takes a lot of time to show the start page, and I had problems when downloading files so.... BYE, BYE... brave.

Brave 'portable' - 64-bit

@mikewalsh has created it and @fredx181 has added the updater to it as well as the start script for EasyOS-6.3 . https://forum.puppylinux.com/viewtopic. ... 662#p59662

Download and install the 'Brave-portable64.tar.xz' v. 1.50.121
https://mega.nz/folder/CPxnQQIJ#9jWxpqpaKUWCFjA-ayteQQ

Use the 'LAUNCH' script below to run Brave on EasyOS-6.3
https://forum.puppylinux.com/viewtopic. ... 15#p131115

Use the 'UpdateBrave' script to bump Brave to v 1.69.168

I am using it on my old BIOS-PC without problems. Check it out and see if it works for you too or not.

Regards,
Feodor

Rem: It's a very small package compared to the Flatpak one.

LAUNCH.False.gz
(2 KiB) Not downloaded yet

(just remove .False.gz and copy it to the Brave-portable64 folder)
