Puppy Linux newer ISO's on laptops battery usage with pipewire with camera
I am looking for smarter people than myself to comment on some entries on reddit about Linux ISO's on certain laptops with a camera and their slight extra battery usage with pipewire:
(For myself, I believe this might only apply to my newer Bookworm Puppy.)
https://old.reddit.com/r/linux/comments ... tery_life/
The articles point out that it is "not really pipewire itself but an interaction with wireplumber, libcamera, the kernel, but pipewire is what triggers the problem."
"If you read the issue, the camera itself is not actually pulling any power, it’s the USB controller it’s connected to that’s staying on."
They seem to be saying, that not all laptop hardware has this issue, but ...
is my Bookworm on some of my laptops using a little more battery power than needed ?
(Maybe it has been fixed already !
I didn't fully understand how to test for this issue.)
Thanks for any comments.
