Where is libgstapp for Ubuntu Noble Puppy?

Where is libgstapp for Ubuntu Noble Puppy?
Trying to install Clementine interrupts for libgstapp-1.0.so.0.
I have searched the Ubuntu Packages site without success.

libgstapp may not be available or needed for the Noble version of Clementine. pkgs.org does not list it as a dependency for Noble Numbat, https://ubuntu.pkgs.org/24.04/ubuntu-un ... 4.deb.html. pkgs.org only shows listapp as being in Opensuse and Openmandriva repositories. You could try adding it. But my experience has been when you try to add a library of a Distro significantly different from your base distro you end up in dependency hell: other libs with symlinks are needed and some foundation libs required for it will be in conflict with those you need for other applications native to your base distro.

If libgstapp is essential for your version of Clementine, than the only idea I have is [something I can't do] create it as a portable with instructions to use the 'extra libraries' in your portable's 'extra lib' folder. And you may have to build the portable only use Opensuse or Openmandriva binaries and libraries.

RANT: It seems that development of Clementine as an application you could simply install stopped two years ago. Ubuntu --following Microsoft's philosophy, "Use our OS and you need us for everything else"-- packages it as a snap. Alternatively --Opensuse and Openmamdriva excepted" you'll have to 'kowtow' to the new flatpak priesthood.

Are there good alternative to Clementine?

On another note, I see that you are using Simple SFS Builder. FWIW, I still have successfully used your PaDS 1.1.7 thru Bookworm64.

I believe this is what you're looking for, Rainer.....but I wouldn't like to say if it will in fact DO what you want!

I tracked it down thru https://www.pkgs.org - which then took me to an RPM package in the OpenSuse repos. I've attached the wee tarball below; this is the bit you need (the rest was all YUM package management scripts). Mikeslr is right, though; you may well end up needing the biggest part of the GStreamer-base-plugins package exclusively from the OpenSUSE repos to go along with this.

Looking through the Ubuntu repos, you will notice that many apps/dependencies stop at 2023. This is hardly surprising; Canonical are no longer supplying stuff the 'normal' way; they are instead building everything as their in-house format, the Snap.....self-contained & fully 'sandboxed' all-in-one packages. This being the case, why bother to supply items in a format that Ubuntu can no longer use....?

What is the point of having a program to install still in repository but not the required library/libraries?

Clementine won't start without it. Terminal output says it's missing and then nothing happens after that.

Simple SFS Builder

as it seems to be developed for plain Puppies. In my current Noble built I will try to build without the use and install of any of my programs from the past. Having Simple SFS Builder installed will not annoy other Puppy users - if finished one day.

I don't know. I'm familiar with the use of Amarok and later Clementine which seems to be a fork or successor of Amarok. I was really happy when I discovered Amarok is no longer available but Clementine is. Now the trouble starts from scratch...

...I like to use audio players which have their own database for the music. For some time I used Aqualung, but after restructuring the local storage of .mp3 files, Aqualung could not find the music anymore. I restructured using directories in alphabetical order, so e.g. Simon Phillips is stored under P.
