Hello mikeslr
Thank you for your interest in triton. First of all, I must remind you that Triton is primarily designed for French-speaking puppy enthusiasts. The welcome message offering keyboard settings, time zone etc... is set to French parameters, but Triton can be used in all the languages offered by puppy. Triton is a "dress-up" in my own way of radky's BookwormPup64, who congratulated me on the work done.
Sorry, but Triton Puppy has never used the Trinity Desktop. The desktop is the usual JWM, which does the job very well. Years ago, with the help of jejy69, I made a puplette with the gnome desktop but I haven't done it again. I'd be tempted to try XFCE though.
I've completed the desktop with wbar, which makes it possible to have nicely presented applications and very easy customization of the bars that are displayed. The emphasis is on "aesthetics", with a pretty wallpaper generously donated by Vladimir from vladstudio, pretty icons, a voice message in the chosen language, animated gifs and sounds to cheer up the desktop.
Bluetooth is fully functional. After a few setbacks that have now been resolved, synaptic works very well. Triton also offers an impressive list of TV channels from the French-speaking world of Europe, Africa and beyond, which I regularly update automatically.
Last but not least, I have to say that I'm not alone in this adventure: Rantanplan played a major role in the translation, and a few other friends provided feedback to correct several bugs.
I invite you to visit my page to see some images and download the ISO: https://petihar-triton.weebly.com/
Of course, I'd be delighted to hear your impressions of this Triton, and any suggestions you may have would be most welcome.
Best regards, petihar.
