Can Not Reach the "OK" button

Post by rockedge »

How does one reach the "Ok" button in this scenario? Can not re-size the window and can't scroll, so no way to go further and complete the write of menu.lst. I would like to get this entire list...I have a 1 terabyte USB drive that has plenty of 32 bit Puppy's set up and some that I would like to get going to build some 32 bit kernels.

Most window managers allow you to hold the alt key down and drag a window using the left mouse button.

Test on a smallish GRUB4DOS-window - first:
Alt O - will probably reach the Ok-button
Alt C -----------"------- the Cancel-button.

Did you try the PgDn key or the down arrow?

In addition to alt+mouse, in Fatdog "alt+spacebar m" when a window is in focus enables the window to be moved around with the arrow keys, and pressing Enter finishes the move operation. Same menu as when the leftmost icon in the Window Title is clicked.

Other actions such as alt+spacebar d ... can be useful, i.e toggles the show/hide of the window title bar, so in seamonkey for instance you gain a bit more screen real estate whilst viewing web pages.

Hi rufwoof,

Is fatdog using JWM? If so, does anyone know why doesn't fossapup64 have the "Move" option on the alt-Enter JWM window menu?

Also, mine just says "Sent to", not "Send to Desktop", which I prefer....

@sc0ttman
Fatdog uses openbox by default.

Odd, I'm using fossapu64 and there is "move" in the JWM window menu...

This happens to me too, most recently with the wifi list in Barry's networking tool (the one above Wizard and Frisbee, I'm urban residential).

When it's almost visible I've hidden the lower taskbar and removed borders.

A few times I've resorted to vertical spanning across multiple monitors.

I think there's another option in the upper left corner list (where close and kill live at the bottom).

If alt- works on older puppies there's a new trick in the bag.

I've run into this problem only a few times and some time ago. If I remember correctly, what worked for me was to put the cursor on the lowest part of the window where it would stay, then use either the Tab key or the down arrow, I don't remember which, to move the cursor further down. As the cursor moved down to parts of the window that were out of view, the whole window moved up to keep the cursor in view.

Again, for most windows and for most window managers:

hold down the alt key, drag the window up with the left mouse button (anywhere on the window).
Unmaximize the window first, if necessary, it probably is not necessary.
The bottom of the window with all the buttons will be visible.
Takes no more than a second or two to do
