@FloraMae
Putting a short description of what the application does will help the potential users. Just a suggestion.
Thanks

Linphone is very good.
It is a program that I use every day and wouldn't want to be without.
I have taken an interest in it since my early days of using Linux. Over the years I have followed the development of it and compiled several versions of it. The developers have always worked hard to keep improving it and they are still doing that.
The 64bit AppImage works very well for me in BookwormPup64
Also available for other devices so you can communicate for free between Puppy and phones.
Audio, video, Instant Message, file transfer and more, so like Skype or Zoom but SIP protocol so non-proprietory.
People should check it out and ask their friends to do the same.

I also use Linphone Android and on my cell phone it works very well for making calls with a SIP address of my telecom.
What I can't use is Linphone desktop AppImage (system Bookworm debiandog) because unlike the android version, it doesn't connect to the sip address.
But, above all, I can't configure desktop version with full knowledge of the facts; i.e. now I configured it as the android version - and it doesn't work -; but if I wanted to configure the desktop version I don't know where to turn for the various parameters.
Starting the assistant I only provide:
the username (my landline phone)
the password (given to me by the telecom provider) and
the transport which is now UDP ( because works in android version) but if I enter TCP or TLS it has no effect.
I can't figure out where the problem is.
I haven't tried to download the official version from Synaptic because I would like to use AppImage.
Oscar or Flora, could you suggest to me what are the fundamental parameters that I should use since you are also in Bookworm?
thx
