KLA-HyprlandCE-1.3 stable
ISO:
https://github.com/sofijacom/KLA-Hyprla ... s/tag/v1.3
*********************************************************
Getting started : Learning hotkeys MOD + H
Uses pamac -aur as package manager.
Updating Packages:
Updating packages - standard ( left click ) on the tray icon
Update AUR package (right click) on the icon in the panel
AUR requires installation of sudo pacman -Syu base-devel
Regardng Internet browser.
I see no point in bloating a base iso with any large browser users may well not want.
Since fully-Arch-Linux-compatible KLA-HyprlandCE-1.3 comes with official and complete pacman package manager (think of it like Quickpet...).
To install Browser, you simply need to open a terminal and enter command:
Or open Pamac package manager MOD + shift + P
and install from there.
note:
If he suddenly complains that he cannot install the package, delete "db.lck" in ( /var/lib/pacman/db.lck )
Official browsers:
Code: Select all
sudo pacman -S firefox-developer-edition
yandex-browser-24.4.1.951-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst (64-bit) https://mega.nz/file/Rz1DnIBK#Wfb_FYQsV ... Ez201GljpI Stable
Code: Select all
sudo pacman -U yandex-browser-24.4.1.951-1-x86_64.pkg.tar.zst

Hello @Sofiya . The opening wallpaper is beautiful when booting ISO file on the test PC, bare-metal.
But, I am asking:
Is there a way to get a screenshot when on the initial desktop in bare-metal? I tried "PrtScrn key" but nothing emerges.
Has ANYONE else having a problem booting the ISO file in a VM? It crashes when trying to login as spot and never starts a desktop. VM stanza is:
Code: Select all
qemu-system-x86_64 -name "KLA-Hyprland v1.3" -enable-kvm -smp 2 -m 2048 -vga std -device AC97 -net nic -net user -rtc base=localtime -boot order=d -cdrom KLA-HyprlandCE-1.3.iso

Yes, I booted the ISO file pristine AND my version results exactly the same as you show. Table, above, is updated with results from my AMD system.

Last night I attempted a new build of KLA-Hyprland using the latest KLA build script for github. The job failed. I just re ran the build which failed the same. I am asking if anybody has ran the KLA build in the last couple of days which has been successful. My last build prior to the current attempts was on 28th April, which was successful. Maybe something with Arch has changed creating this failure.
This is the section of the output where it starts to fail following the downloading of the zstd package:

I also wrote a module to display the HDD temperature .
The hard drive is a very important part, it is the heart of the system
install the utility " hddtemp " sudo pacman -Syu hddtemp
/home/spot/.config/hypr/waybar/themes/KLA_Black/config
Code: Select all
},
"custom/drive": {
"interval": 60,
"format": " {}°C",
"tooltip-format": "HDD temp",
"tooltip": true,
"exec": "sudo hddtemp -n /dev/sd?",
"on-click-right": " "
},
/home/spot/.config/hypr/waybar/themes/KLA_Black/config
line 20 enter the name of the module
Code: Select all
"modules-right": ["custom/weather", "cpu", "custom/drive", "memory", "temperature", "custom/updates", "battery", "backlight", "pulseaudio", "hyprland/language", "idle_inhibitor", "network", "tray", "clock", "custom/power"],
/home/spot/.config/hypr/waybar/themes/KLA_Black/style.css register #custom-drive, line 52

there is no such module, I came up with it myself and wrote it.
The only thing that may differ is the name of the section "/dev/sda?" - " /dev/nvme0n1 " Then replace it with your name.
Code: Select all
"exec": "sudo hddtemp -n /dev/sd?",

@Sofiya It's so cool that I must ask, can we adapt your code to work in KLV-Airedale?
I have never seen the HDD temp indicator on ANY distro's desktop.

Hard Disk Sentinel
By using Hard Disk Sentinel Linux console edition, it is possible to examine the temperature and health information (and more) of IDE, S-ATA (SATA II also), SCSI and USB hard disks connected to motherboard or external controller cards.

A month ago v1.3 was released. It seems that there have been upgrades to this version, but the checksum only reflects the original 1 month ago.
Is there a v1.4 for KLA that I may have overlooked containing this threads updates?

Do you get the same thing when testing?
All my attempts to boot the ISO in a VM fail at the same location using this stanza:
Code: Select all
# echo "boot USB and launch KLA-HCE v1.4 in a VM"
boot USB and launch KLA-HCE v1.4 in a VM
# qemu-system-x86_64 -enable-kvm -vga cirrus -m 2G -smp 2 -device AC97 -net nic -net user -rtc base=localtime -name "KLA-HyprlandCE v1.4 via QEMU" -hda /dev/sdc

boot KLA-HCE v1.4 ISO file DIRECTLY in a VM

I am running into an overlooked problem that has been present since I 1st discovered and reported.
I have been using a 'proven' bios-based VM stanza for almost all of my forum ISO file testings. They ONLY vary by the 'vga ...' parm as some of forum distros are sensitive to a particular video firmware.
Now, some of the recent KL's are not reaching desktop. I have posted the stanzas that I use normally. My recent hosts are F96 as well as BKWP64 where QEMU v7.2 are installed from their repos.
I dont seem to be having problems in either understanding or booting the DOGs or the PUPs. But, KLs are exhibiting boot issues across the board.
Today, I decided to drop back and use a stanza that @Sofiya has posted success on in this thread couple months back.
They are booting to the exact failure to reach desktop error(s) I have reported.
Explaaining further, upon KL launch at its own boot menu, I do NOTHING except to hit the Enter-key. That is NO change in selection, no editing the KL's boot Menu stanza...merely allowing the boot to proceed with its selected default. Here's is Sofiya's QEMU stanza:
qemu-system-x86_64 -enable-kvm -m 2G -vga std -smp 2 -device AC97 -name 'KLV-SpectrwmCE' -boot d /mnt/sdb1/BOOTISOS/KLA-HyprlandCE-1.4.iso
Does anyone know what's going on with KL's failing to get to desktop in virtual machines?
