re-installed drivers from hpijs, and turned priteer on, set to scan, clicked Xsane---nothing detected. printer run thru ext hub with mouse and usb f'drive. what did.nt i do, pls?
@boof - I always have to install a scan utility (from manufacturer's website), then run xsane.
I know that HP printers have a scan facility onboard, when wirelessly connected - you simply put the printer IP address in your browser.
can't find scan utility, pls make accessable.
Late posting here, but it wasn't solved, so in case anyone else has this error message (as I did with an Epson scanner), try deleting the file /root/xsaneshellrc and starting Xsane up again.
