Original Fossa64 compared to Fossa64 CE

Hi.

I have in use the original FossaPup 64bit plus also the FossaPup 64bit CE in latest version.
Both of them do have almost the same setup and programs installed.

One main difference is there, though.
I made a remaster of the original FossaPup 64bit, as I made it runnung with XFCE4.
This XFCE4 Fossa works fine for doing music.
The FossaPup 64bit CE produces lots of XRUNS,
The smallest move of the mouse pointer creates already several XRUNS.

The setup for both is Qjackctl and Qtractor with internal Calf Fluidsynth plugin.
Equal versions of Qjackctl and Qtractor in both of the Fossas.
Qjackctl 0.9.10
Qtractor 0.9.38
Both were downloaded from rncbc launchpad repository.
Both of the Puppies are using the same kernel: 5.4.70-rt40

I would expect the CE Pup would be better/faster, for the more lightweight window manager.

Any hints why the FossaPup CE isn't usable to do some music?

Thanks

@Tippe I made that kernel a long time ago.

Perhaps a different full real time kernel will perform better.

I use F96-CE_4-RT with 6.1.38-rt13 and the stock desktop and it runs LMMS-portable with a whole load of plugins and software synths just fine.

These will perform better with music making ,listening and audio recording.
Here is F96-CE_4-RT with 6.6.0-rock-rt15 full real time kernel

F96-CE_4-RT-6.1.38-rt13 full real time kernel. Designed for audio work.

Now see if you get xruns... :ugeek: :thumbup2:
