"no such file" error when copying with rox from usb stick to another stick

Post by Dingo »

Woof Woof!

time by time, following a scheduled routine, I make a backup of my savefile. I start a fresh live usb session with puppy pfix=ram, then I copy the savefile from my main usb stick (lets's call A) to an an another stick (let's call B)

the strange is that, when i use cp, no errors are shown, while, if I use rox, this is what I get:

Has somebody idea about this behavior?

it is worthy to annotate that, even if this warning appears, then the window closes by itself when copying has finished. the file copied is not truncated amd the md5sum perfectly mathes with other original file

I think this is not a bug with Rox. If there was a file by the same name (ie, no "file not found" message) the script will stop to ask you if you want to overwrite it. There are a lot of precedents in linux. Warnings are not necessarily meant for us but for the program itself. This one is mostly harmless.

Another option to try might be rsync.
