Odd MoManager behaviour

Post by don570 »

Fatdog64 901

I translated PUP Diary into several languages with MoManager
viewtopic.php?p=109805#p109805

I came across two odd things

1) When launching I typed in PUPDiary.sh in the textdomain box
There was a warning message to wait. ---> But I had to wait for around 20 minutes!!!

2) I kept changing LANG using locale change in control panel
This allowed me to quickly do all the work,
however each time I changed the locale
geany would open the PO file with the entries filled in with previous language???
The best behaviour would be for geany to open the PO file with empty entries
Fortunately geany did save correctly and MO files where correct.

The reason why it was taking so long --->

it was checking every file connected to compute by SAMBA server.

That's not good.
But Fatdog's MoManager is old and unmaintained.
If it is a problem more than it is worth, we may remove it from the next version.
What do you think, @don570 ?

It's just a small script working with a couple of small utility apps and geany
so it's nice to have it in the main SFS rather than the DEVX SFS

I've been working with the new BarryK version of momanager and I like it a lot.
It's quick to list all the scripts available. It works in fatdog64 900.
I didn't test it with an internet connection. Just click 'no' at first window.
It lists all scripts in about 15 secs . Select a script and click 'edit'
You are warned if you are in english locale.

@jamesbond
It is actually a set of scripts:

Interesting that all I had to do was replace one script 'momanager' and I was able
to do translation of a script, but I wasn't connected to internet.
