How to connect Dell G3 5000 laptop to the Internet?

First time linux user, I'm using the friendly version of fossa64-9.5 and I'm having some trouble getting connected to the internet. Tried following the instructions listed in the Internet Setup document and since I'm not seeing any wlan devices in my interfaces for Simple Network Setup I've been directed here. I've tried to follow similar posts but haven't had much luck. I've been using windows most of my life and have really wanted to get into linux and I figured this could be a good start, any help is greatly appreciated!
I'm using a Dell G3 5000 gaming laptop as it's what was lying around, figure I'd mention this in case this might be the cause for the issue somehow.

Most likely it is a missing needed WFI hardware driver and or firmware.
So the first thing needed is finding out what WIFI hardware you are using.
Is it a internal WIFI router hardware or one you plug into the computer by USB?
If by USB what make and model?

In a terminal enter this command:
What info does it give you?
You can copy from a terminal by highlighting
Paste by middle mouse button click.

Follow advice given above. Did read in another forum that the WiFi card is an Intel(R) Wireless-AC 9462 wifi card and will need a later kernel than the one in that Fossa. Not sure if that is the case with your laptop.

Had a quick look at the kernels in Puppy and it will be worth trying the latest Fatdog with a later kernel and Fatdog is one of the Puppy family. https://distro.ibiblio.org/fatdog/web/
By way of an explanation in Linux all the necessary drivers (thousands of them) are compiled in the kernel so that connect up a printer, for example, and it is recognised and made available for use. To do that there is a configuration file which list them all. With luck that WiFi driver will be in the kernel.
Getting on WiFi is a little different than in Puppy proper but it works.

Really any of the Puppy versions that are using series 6 Linux kernels would be good choices.
Any of them should work on your computer.
I suggest BookwormPup64

Hi!! I am new to linux and have the same problem. Background:I bought a cheap Clevo laptop 2 years ago to try linux. It had Linux mint 20 preinstalled and it all worked fine until some updates. After that the system regularly started not to react to mouse clicks, so I got annoyed and installed Peppermint OS because I really only need a lightwieght distro, which then froze when left idle for a couple of minutes. (sutpid me, I installed it as a dual boot to Mint cause the freezing issue did not appear when tried first live)
anyways, now I created a friendly fossapup (or whatever it's called sorry) bootable usb, started it and it just does not seem to recognise wlan.
I ran:
rfkill list all
and got back:
0: hci: bluetooth
Soft blocked: no
Hard blocked: no
Can you please help me? Thanks!!

I tried to load different drivers via the Puppy Network Wizard but it did not work though I went back to mint to figure out what Wifi device I have and it gave me:
Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX200 driver: iwlwifi
I loaded that driver but it did not work either.Any ideas?
