BitLocker virus encrypts Windows 11 drive

Today, a friend's Windows 11 desktop was blocked by a virus warning,
a call number, and a loud noise.
I managed to get out and reboot. After that, boom... it prompted me to enter
its BitLocker password. Puppy showed that the Windows drive is encrypted.
Next time you see a similar sign, copy everything you need before restarting/
shutting down.

The time to copy the hard disk drive is BEFORE a virus encrypts it. By the time you see the warning, the disk is encrypted. It may be that not the entire contents of the disk is encrypted. That would take a while and might be obvious. Perhaps only the file system info is encrypted.

I managed to download some apps and run TDSSKILLER before it asked me to reboot.
