fossa64 respin, made good ISO, boots to kernel panic

fossa64 USB run upgraded, no kernel changes
mounted a save partition
respins creates ISO, I md5 sum it.
Make DVD with pburn, md5 checks ok
reboot to DVD
system kernel panic

Where do I look to fix respin?

First make sure you are booting the DVD with no USB drives plugged into the computer.

I assume you burned the new ISO to the DVD as an ISO image burn?
All the files in the ISO are on the DVD if you look at what is on it.

Look on the DVD and look for the boot loader files.

Look for grub.cfg file and open it in a text editor.

In the entries, does it have pmedia=cd or something else as pmedia=?

found it, sigh,
My "I thought it was good" custom fossa65 DVD actually had jammy32 boot section.
that would do it. bad base = bad ISO
