Having a recent ubuntu based puppy is a good option I think.
Personally, I've already decided that my daily driver will be f96-6 after bionicpup64 (one way or the other).
It would certainly be a shame about all the work, so I'm in favor of option 3.
I think it's important to think about the drv constructions before jammy64.
I can't estimate how many users would actually appreciate the function of an "extended save file".
I personally like the idea of having selected programs in the ydrv and using the adrv with smaller personal settings as a save file replacement.
