What is "Isolated Web Co" please?
Well, here's the latest addition to the "kennels". Yeah, it's a 'retro' one, and yeah, it's boring.....more of the 'same old, same old' as always.....

I know, I know; it's ancient, it's old-fashioned, why am I bothering, etc, etc. Well, I made a right hash of it the first time round, and subsequent attempts haven't gone right, either. Usually, it would boot, make it to desktop, let me set it up, then after a restart of 'X', everything went to hell in a handbasket, and I just couldn't recover from the ensuing black screen....
Since the beginning of the pandemic, I've been using jrb's 'lite' respin on Barry's old Quirky 'April' 7.0.1. It's approximately the same gen as Tahrpup; a ton of stuff for Tahrpup will more or less drop-in and work straight off without fuss OR the need for endless tweaking. It's been my test bed for so many new ideas this last 3 years or so.
I decided, after a break of a couple of years, to have one last attempt at Tahr64. For some unknown reason, everything behaved itself this time.....
It's running Xenialpup64's k4.9.58 kernel, necessary for audio to function (the chip didn't exist when Tahr's 3-series was 'current'). Glibc is at 2.28, 'borrowed' from josejp2424's Busterpup64 of a few years back. Dbus is uprated, and libstdc++. Also openssl, curl and ca-certs.
All current browsers run without issue. Most of my other portables do, too. I've installed the official Nvidia drivers, so even the most up-to-date G.Earth-portable seems quite happy, as does the current ESR Thunderbird, v115, AND Firefox ESR v115. (The latter, in particular, seems so stable that I've been giving the 'clones' a break for the last month or more, and sticking with FF exclusively. TBH, it's getting so it's hard to tell browsers apart these days; as long as they work, are stable, and keep uo-to-date, I'm happy with 'em. Which browser I actually use is rapidly becoming irrelevant....)
It's just a modification of all my other desktops. Nowt special, is it?
Mike.
Boring is good. To quote an old Chinese adage: "Let my enemies live in interesting times."
Boring means it works, and everything is where you expect it to be. But as an 'outsider' --that is not You-- let me say your desktop displays both elegance and functionality.

Not a complete desktop. But perhaps a wallpaper to suggest to newbies along with reading bigpup's post about the information we need to provide help, https://www.forum.puppylinux.com/viewto ... p=816#p816 and rockedge's posts about how Puppys and Puppys' Saves work, https://www.forum.puppylinux.com/viewtopic.php?t=5818 and https://www.forum.puppylinux.com/viewtopic.php?t=6526

Hi, @josejp2424 :
Does "isolated web co" mean that DevuanPup provides a way to run a web browser in an isolated or separate environment to minimize potential security risks when browsing the web?
Does it include running the browser with limited permissions or using containerization technology to isolate web activities from the rest of the system, helping to protect against malware and other online threats?.
Does it reduce the internet browsing speed?
Thanks for your attention, cheers.
