F3 - Fight Flash Fraud (Qt GUI)

Useful if you want to check if your device truly has the capacity it claims!!

Menu entry included in <UTILITY>

This potentially could take a long time as it is dependent on the 'read/write' speed of your device.

f3-qt-2.1.0

If you prefer to use the CLI then there some additional tools at hand.

Image

In terminal enter .......... this will write a 1 GB random file onto the device to verify later

f3write /path/to/flash-drive

then

f3read /path/to/flash-drive

there is also another tool f3probe which is useful for larger drives and faster test speed.

In terminal identify your device by entering

lsblk

choose the correct device

then enter

f3proble --destructive --time-ops /dev/XXX (your device eg sdb)

wait patiently for the results
