There is enormous adversity toward a country which is constantly accused of bad-acting while NEVER showing evidence of bad acting. Why do so many of us listen to politicians and why would WE, technical people who rely on evidence, believe any who WONT produce evidence.
Some of us are told what to believe and how we are suppose to see the world through what we are told versus actually seeking to find out if what we were told makes sense; or it the accuser is any more 'moral' than those being accused by contrasts.
Questions
Are we victims or relay vehicles for politics?
Or will WE be the 'true' evidence based people as the technology we demonstrate (Our work in just this forum centers in evidence and proofs we display: Not ground-less behaviors)?
We must control ourselves from deeming a good product because if came from some country we are taught to dislike. It a tool exist, maybe we should focus on the merit a tool might offer instead of some effort to diminish something which could be helpful as mankind continues to move forward on this planet we share.
Curious from comments in a prior post.

artificial intelligence (AI) smarter than humans — could create an “immortal dictator,” billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk warned.

@Clarity
Is there merit in this view?

Article from 'The Age' an Australian newspaper. You won't see the full video, but the attached gif image, basically says it all.
It says only one thing. The American (Australian) wants to know about the events in China's Tiananmen Square, and the Chinese wants to know how many Indian (Aboriginal) tribes were exterminated by American (British) settlers. Both sides prefer to have more information on just one of these points. And most likely, both sides will use both AI at once for comparison. The Russian AI will not tell you something about the Communists.

We are continuing to be told "Beware!" "Look-out!" "Disaster looms!". We were told this about electric ligths & electridity, We were told this when the 'horseless carriage' came on the scene. We were told this cell phone causing brain waves from the military. We are constantly told things to make all of us afraid. This will continue in mankind's existence. Elon's antics has a personal motivation, IMHO.
But, the risk is not the technology (as if technology has some feeling to want to control the masses thought and behaviors as past human dictators have done). Technology does NOT have feelings or the desire for unlimited, unchecked power! So what specie has that desire for greed?
Based upon what I was a indirectly involved when in corporate decades ago at its outset, and what I currently know, the technological development is not progressing in the "what if" ways we are being scared upon.
One thougtht I have is:
Get an AI account or download any of the AI locals offered today that run on your home PC. Create you own narrative of the tools ability(s).
If you become afraid of your own tool use, tell us about it.
If you find benefit and want us to know, tell us about it such that we may benefit too.
@williwaw If there is an advanced technology and it was YOU, what would you do if YOU were a technology; namely an AI? What would your focus be and why? ... Dictator?
