If you want just the themes from old Puppy releases, I ported three themes from 4.1.x and 4.3.x to GTK+ 3:

These themes support both GTK+ 2 and 3, so old applications that use GTK+ 2 (like ROX-Filer) look consistent with applications that use GTK+ 3, like all up-to-date browsers, Transmission and pretty much everything except some LXDE packages that still use GTK+ 2.

I think it's a shame that "official" Puppy releases (including some in development) come with themes that support only GTK+ 2, or one theme for GTK+ 2 and another for 3.

i found a theme in easyos which suits my
desire for maximum readability, from onboard
choices. i try to keep it simple, for me and
for the electrons.

i have been able to get easyos interface
to suit me. i'll try to get it working wirelessly
next. i have a vanilla dpup iso downloaded.
if needed i will install it to dual boot with
easyos. thanks for yr work on it and for yr
useful replies.

i'm trying to alter the subject title to show that
in my case the issue is solved. i did not put the
subject line, another changed it, for clarity.

Just tried these out on VoidPup64 after a lot of work trying to harmonize the gtk+ 2 and gtk+ 3 look across apps there. They are simply quite wonderful and I'd guess represent FAR more work than it seems on the surface.

i got close to using yr vanillapup iso which i have downloaded.
i stopped because i want to be sure that i can dual boot it
with easyos. i suppose i should be asking on the easyos forum.
well that's what i'll do but if you have any suggestions i'd be
pleased to learn them.

Yes, it should be possible - the easiest way is to use a 9.0.x ISO. There are many guides, but pretty much all of them talk about ISOs.
