Sorry don, this is a lot of nonsense - always was. These are bots and so on. Actual Puppy users long ago found out about this forum and so no they are not hovering about on the old forum in countless hundreds and thousands!

Those numbers on the stats for the murga forum are totally incorrect. The reset/recount button needs to be clicked. What is being seen are many many bots. Sometimes multiple instances of a Bot will be crawling the site.

Re: PuppyLinux.com website down
I think that for some users English is some kind of barrier. In Poland we have own news site and forum (i'm not a member of this community, but i'm reading from time to time):
http://www.puppylinux.pl/
http://forum.puppylinux.pl/
I think that there are more same sites in other languages. So user base is higher than the numbers in this forum indicate.

There is also a Russian website and a forum. And what is typical, I am not a participant in it. But I also follow. There are now half a dozen projects there.
The most interesting is built from Arch Linux packages and its own repository compatible with Arch and uses Pacman. frugal mode allows to simply copy ready-made modules to assemble an optimal system for hardware and tasks. There is also a full mode. There is a launch in aufs mode and all changes are stored in memory (directory or file, i.e. the installed system does not change). Can be switched to using the Manjaro repository. Custom modules are used - .pfs.
So there are actually more Puppy Linux users and developers than the forum statistics show.

I'm sure that is generally correct (more readers than active logins), and I hope so. My concern, nevertheless, is indeed about active contributors since the forum is as much a technical (and to some extent 'social') meeting place and the more involved the better.

Re: PuppyLinux.com website down
I think we need to display links to all the different language Puppy Linux forums on this forum. And let them display ours. This would be optimal for search engine optimization. The Google Bot's would crawl from one Puppy forum to the next and back again. Really good for search engine rankings.
Perhaps it would tie the power of the community and the development ideas together....unify the genius.....in some slight way.

The new Puppy Linux host server is under construction! I have transferred (copied) the Forum's software code and data to the new host server.
We are now waiting for the transfer of a Domain Name registry to occur to get this puppy up and running!

Will newer data (i.e. posts sent to current version in between times) be lost or okay?

Re: PuppyLinux.com website down
@wiak I was able to import the database from Monday, but the size limit allowed in a monolithic .SQL file is close to exceeded. So I have a functioning database but missing all of today's posts. What I will do when it is ready, is to take the forum offline. Then export the most current database and import it back in to the new one. Very current it will be. All theory of course, but we are still on course and 4 days ahead of schedule.

PuppyRus Linux Website https://www.puppyrus.org/ and Forum https://forum.puppyrus.org/ and its own Wiki https://wiki.puppyrus.org/start
This is the Russian brother of Puppy. Several years ago he was portrayed as a large shepherd dog, but now he has become like this :
Unfortunately, the most interesting project PuppyRus-A (based on Puppy, Arch and Porteus) does not support languages other than Russian. "For now we support russian localization only, sorry" - this is the position of the team and the reason is simple - there are no interested speakers of other languages.

I presume you won't be using English name 'Grey' on that forum? It is an interesting forum, since you posted I had a look (via english translation).

Re: PuppyLinux.com website down
I will give a detailed but vague answer.
Maybe I'll use it, maybe not. It's more of a nickname since the 90s and that's how friends called me, who, like me, were fond of the ZX Spectrum computer. More precisely, it was a local clone of Spectrum - 'Pentagon-128' (with AY-3-8910 sound chip and TR-DOS disk operating system) and it is still in working condition.
And then there were guys from Poland who came to us under the student exchange program. And they began to call my friend Vladimir "Włodek" and he still calls himself that.
In general, everything is complicated with names

Whose "his" is it? Heh. You haven't guessed right. And the signature is kind of teenage
